A Special Gift For Mom! 1930s Mother's Day Shopping
What a bummer that mice got into so much. And how much spray starch can one family use in a lifetime?
You disturbed the mice Renee... haha
The silver tote bags look just like the ones that came with huggable hangers from QVC. You really seemed overwhelmed. It is probably good you weren't there from the first day.
Never understood the mentality of a hoarder.
There are so many layers to their thoughts/reasoning behind why they save what they save.
You have one h-ll of a job ahead of you.
Holy Cow!! Can you imagine...😮 I just can't believe people go that crazy. Wine..party time🎉😂 Renee' have fun.
such a sad situation
I hope you took the entire bag of tags and boxes???
Did u find any QVC Joan Rivers jewelry? Interested! 🐝
I believe that the estate heirs kept the jewelry. No doubt there probably was some Joan Rivers in there!
Why would you go to a clean out with no boxes?
They had used all the boxes/totes that had been brought that day.
It seemed as though you were having difficulty focusing today (& not with the camera). A lot of the furniture was lovely, & appeared to be of high quality. Re shortage of boxes...one of you should do a grocery store run and get egg boxes. Down here at least, they have lids and side holes to help you carry them.
One of the other helpers went to the local fast food place the night before and got some boxes, but we went through them fairly quickly. Tony was selling at the flea market the next day, so that would replenish the box count after he sold.
What have you missed..😮 sometimes things work out like that, still enjoyed ..thanks for sharing one of the largest hoards I've ever seen...🥰🥰
Fun clean-out day 😊
Just sell the printer paper at 50 cents each at the Swapmeet. You'd be surprised. 🙂
What about the ceramic Christmas tree? 🙂
Can't use those paper products in a lifetime,I beg to differ on that
What was in safe
It had paperwork, a few bills mostly.
😊
What will Tony do with all the wine? Can he sell it legally?
No, he cannot sell it. He’s prepared for Christmas gifts for the next several years!
WoW
If I enter a house like that I would probably star crying. Its so overwhelming. All that paper and cleaning products. However, I did the cleaning after my parents passed and it drains your live because of all the memories. In my case not much to save because termites were savages.
Hack. Take 4 or 8 rolls of t.p. out of the center and pack those xmas trees...
It appears to be a very clean home considering the hoarding, it seems to be large with lots of rooms
Some of the upstairs rooms had little mice visitors, but the majority of the rodent problem & bugs were in the basement.
Why not have estate sale
Why put this on YT? As interesting as All Capone's vault.
To show the actual reality of buying storage units. Many think that every unit is going to be filled with collectibles, comic books, safes filled with money, & that is far from the truth.
some crafters would use the tea bags. Lots of new stuff should help him out
I would have bought the entire tub of novelty fabrics.
My mom bought tons of knickknacks, she also had over 200 boxes of smelly papers. My mom also liked rags and dead plants. I keep tossing papers, odd junk, and tchotchkes. Tina, Al's wife
Exhausting work. Good luck with the rest of the clean out.
Makes me tired just looking at this. You probably should put on a mask when you get into the clean out phase
My father's uncle, and not least his wife, were incorrigible bargain hunters. Anything that was two for the price of one and they were on like flies on hot cow dung. They were also old-school frugal, so they didn't throw things away until they were completely worn out. Fortunately, I didn't have to take part in the clearing of houses and garages and workshop buildings, but I was told that they found, among other things, 6-7 complete sets of outdoor furniture, in the packaging. Untouched. Because the old ones were good enough. And because we don't have a flea market environment around here, a lot of it went straight to recycling. Because we don't have a landfill environment either.
a spider-man comic at the 7.32 mark worth several hundred dollars
Not excitice? It's allways an exciting time with PAM! To bad when people get in a bad way with over purchasing thing. Turns out unfortunate for all, even if good intention started it all. Thanks for sharing, it is insightful 👍👍
I think one can learn from this all is to be mindful of all the monthly/yearly subscriptions! They had monthly mail orders of wine, steaks (a freezer in the basement full), and other QVC products. With how forgetful I am at times, it would be easy to remind oneself to cancel & then forget until the item shows up again on your doorstep!
those disposable pads are great puppy pads.
Hello Renee. I know this maybe a little of a let down for you but you’re helping Tony and that is a good thing. Plus you got something’s that you need and some other stuff you would never buy yourself. I think it’s worth it. And it will teach you never to horde things 😅😅. Except sticky notes. 😅😅😅😅. We all love sticky notes. Oh and paper towels, toilet paper, paper plates, cups. You could always give some to your family. But I know Tony needs to make a profit from this so . Take care. And let us know if you find anything crazy cool . 🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🫎🫎🫎🫖☕️🫖☕️🫖☕️🫎🫎🫎💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Broad day-afta light robbery omg nice work when you can get it galpal #house
QVC is so predatory when it comes to selling to lonely old widows. Exploitation is the name of the game! It's disgusting!
I’m sure with their monthly subscriptions, it can be easy to fall into that as well.
@@PaperandMoose - My 91-year old mother-in-law fell into that trap a couple of years ago after my father-in-law died...she ran into money (that she never had) was lonely and bored. Filled her time by buying crap she simply didn't need...or, even want! It's insidious...
I have to wonder the state of the owners mind to buy all that stuff. Searching for joy?
So when you do cleanouts like this, who gets all the stuff that is resalable? Editing, because I'm now at the 10 minute mark and just heard what the deal is. So does Tony have to pay everyone to help out and then hope he can recoup that from what he can sell? I've had someone ask if I'm interested in doing clean outs before and am wondering how it works before I get into it....
My mom bought multiples of things because of dementia. She just couldn't remember what she had and when she saw something she liked or thought she needed, she bought it. . .over and over. This seems like what was going on here.
Does Tony sell at the flea market Renee?
Renee said he does
🧻👍🏼🧼
What an amazing hoard! I've been looking forward to another cleanout. Does the furniture stay with the house?
Cleanest cleanout ever.
Remember I’m there for the first time 2 weeks after they have started. I heard there was stuff all over the floor & boxes just piled up on rooms & in the attic.
Didn't think about that.@@PaperandMoose
Hi Renee I am so excited that you're helping your friend to clean out that house I did a house like that about 10 years ago or so and I got paid for cleaning it out and I got to keep all the stuff that was left over cuz the man died and lady died so there was nobody left the gentleman in charge of the house pay me to clean it and keep whatever was left over that was very exciting I share with my friends and gave some of the stuff to them cuz I got paid to clean the house there's a lot of stuff in that house that I like I wish I could go help you but I live too far away well good luck to you cleaning the house and your friend. I am so sad to hear about Carl I pray for you i hope the you know Jesus because with him nothing is impossible if he is by your side you are in good hands my prayers for you even if I don't know you I am hurting for you God bless you Carl
A bunch of good stuff.
Some of those houses are unbelievable. I wish sometimes, I had the money that went into buying all of that stuff. It is sad in a way, because it is probably a person who couldn't get out and about any more and spent their time and money on buying things online, for the rush of getting packages in the mail. Thank you for the video exciting or not.
Im a former dumpster diver and addicted to penny shopping since losing my son almost 3 years ago. I have a lifetimes supply of everything one could need, donate tons, share with family/friends but i have so much i don't need and i don't know how to let go of the excess i think i need. I understand im coping, i understand why i do it. Not how to let go.
Yes, a profound loss like you suffered will totally make you want to hold on to everything. I hope you will be able to manage your pain and let go of things. I'm so sorry your son had to leave you , but its my belief that you will be with him again.
Lots of fun . But hard to make a good profit . Did the owners spend all their money , and couldn’t afford a junk removal company ?
Wow! That is a lot of junk!
